May observe, however, that the present Commanding Royal Engineer

as will be seen from the Memo: Concurs

to the undesirableness

with me entirely of erecting the Barracks at all upon the Site selected by the late Commanding Royal Engineer, and has informed

that he will state his

of Heer Majesty's Governments.

own views upon this subject, as well as those of the Surveyor General,

Admiral Sir J. He ope, and the Mercantile

been fully explained in former Dispatches, and I need only say here that each day

future misunderstanding, that in the appropriation of the Peninsula as proposed

in the plan which accompanied the War offic letter of the 5th March 1862, the requirements
